At the initiative of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Saraishyq” of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, next scheduled meeting of the 2025 Scientific Council was held.
The agenda included the following issues: Chief Curator O. Sagynbayeva delivered a report on the exhibition activities and the replenishment of the museum-reserve’s collections; Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor U. Akhmetova discussed the museum-reserve’s participation in scientific competitions and programs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as priority areas in the study of medieval Saraishyq.
In addition, current issues were addressed: N. Bakbergenov, a specialist from the “KazRestoration” institution, on restoration works in medieval Saraishyq; Russian scholar, PhD in History, numismatist P. Petrov on the prospects for studying the numismatics of Saraishyq and its surroundings; Deputy Director Zh. Diyarova on preparations for the international symposium; archaeologists A. Turaruly, A. Zhumabayev, Zh. Baigaliyev on the 2025 excavations and their preliminary results; lawyer E. Urunbasarova on registration in the Quant Workspace platform and new requirements of the Ministry; artist-restorer O. Kendir on the restoration of khums in the production workshops; Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor U. Akhmetova on the preparation for the publication of the monograph “Golden Horde Cities Karagaily, Ushkan, Ashysai: History and Archaeology”.
Participants of the Scientific Council included: Doctor of Economics, Professor, local historian Baktybek Taubaev; Professor of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, Doctor of Historical Sciences Ulzhan Akhmetova; Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, Head of the Scientific-Production Center of Biology, Geoecology and Forage Production Bolat Mukhambetov; Candidate of Historical Sciences, Chairman of the United Trade Unions in the Sphere of Education of Atyrau Region Kylyshbai Sundetuly; journalist of Zhaiyk Shugylasy newspaper Kazbek Aitkaliyev; Akim of Saraishyq rural district Zhannat Kenzhegalieva; veterans of Saraishyq village Nygmet Kurmashev and Khadim Sissengaliyev, as well as museum staff.
During the session, members of the Scientific Council and participants thoroughly discussed the issues raised and shared their proposals.
