From July 1 to November 1, 2019, archaeological excavations were carried out with funds allocated from the regional budget. The Museum-Reserve concluded a contract with the History and Local History Museum of Atyrau Region. The excavations were attended by Astrakhan archaeologists - topographers V. Plakhov, P. Biryukov, S. Panteleev, anthropologist A. Raisova from Astana. Four teams worked on archaeological excavations. Including from the museum-reserve “Saraishyq” teams were led by archaeologists A. Turaruly and M. Abdigaliev. A. Mukhtar has been appointed as the Scientific Director of the project. The main purpose of the ongoing excavations is to continue the excavation in 2017, the search for objects that will become the basis for the tourist infrastructure. Archaeological work in 2019 was carried out in compliance with a special state license, excavation techniques and generally accepted methods of field excavation.
