Results of 2022 RSE “The state historical and cultural museum-reserve “Saraishyq”

1. The construction of the visit center "Saraishyq" continued.
2. The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated funds for the creation of a museum exhibition of the visit center "Saraishyq".
3. Specialists of the museum-reserve "Saraishyq" together with the organization "Қазқайтажаңарту" have prepared a security zone of the medieval Saraishyq and according to new data, its territory has increased to 90.6 g.
4. The organization "Қазқайтажаңарту" together with the specialists of the museum-reserve "Saraishyq" have created a Master plan for the development of medieval Saraishyq.
5. The Museum-Reserve has fully implemented the project "The camps of Prorva and Astrakhan in the GULAG system: history, memory, heritage (1932-1950)" within the grant funding of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2022. The National Scientific Council highly appreciated the project.
6. The Museum-Reserve has successfully completed the second year of the project "Golden Horde cities, caravan routes and caravanserais in Western Kazakhstan: interdisciplinary research (XIII-XV centuries)" within the framework of program-targeted funding of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-2023. The National Science Council highly appreciated and expressed support for 2023.
7. In 2022, the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve published 3 articles in journals included in the Scopus database, with a high impact factor, 4 articles in journals included in the list of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a collection of materials and documents "Camp system in the Caspian region Kazakhstan (1932-1953)". At the same time, within the framework of the project "camps of Prorva and Astrakhan in the GULAG system: history, memory, heritage (1932-1950)", an interactive (electronic) map of correctional labor camps of the 30-50-ies of the twentieth century on the territory of Kazakhstan of the Main Directorate of Camps of the USSR was prepared
8. A map of caravan routes between the Golden Horde cities of Saraishyq - Sarai-Batu was created.
9. 31 scientific samples - anthropological materials from the territory of medieval Saraishyq were sent for research to the National Center of Biotechnology in Astana.
10. A scientist from Russia, numismatist P. Petrov was engaged in cleaning about 400 coins of the Golden Horde period from the medieval Saraishyq, clarifying the attribution and introduced into scientific circulation.
11. In 2022, archaeologists of the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve identified a large archaeological monument – the Karagaily settlement, between Saraishyq and Sarai-Batu. The area of the monument is 1000x1000 m . Excavations were carried out on the ancient settlement in the ruins of a grave dated to the XIV century with the participation of the famous archaeologist M. Eleuov and the archaeologist from Russia V. Plakhov.
12. Textile restorer T. Krupa conducted a study on a fragment of fabric found in the excavation in 2021 “Хан моласы”, proved its relevance to the XV- XVI century and prepared a brief report.
13. 2 projects have been submitted for the grant funding competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2025.

15. In 2022, archaeologists of the museum-reserve discovered 6 newly discovered monuments of the Golden Horde period and 2 monuments dating from the XVIII century.
16. In 2022, 4 exhibits of the medieval Saraishyq were returned to the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve from other republican museums.
17. In 2022, archaeological excavations were carried out in Saraishyq with the support of the Akimat of Atyrau region on the coastal strip of the Zhaiyk River. The work was carried out under the guidance of scientists from Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov. As a result of the excavations, living rooms, individual buildings and a treasure trove of silver coins were discovered.
18. In 2022 Atyrau University named after H.Dosmukhamedov allocated funds for the study of the “Хан моласы” excavation and together with the archaeologists of the museum-reserve conducted research of the object.
19.The Museum-Reserve continued its research at excavation No. 3 in Saraishyq within the framework of the project "Golden Horde cities, caravan routes and caravanserais in Western Kazakhstan: interdisciplinary research (XIII-XV centuries).”
20. An archaeological expedition was organized along the caravan routes between Urgench and Saraishyq.
21. The Saraishyq Museum-Reserve signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ytyk-Kuel Literary and Art Museum-Reserve "Taatta" of the Sakha Republic, with the Derbent State Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve, Republic of Dagestan and with the regional Tatar public organization "Heritage" of the Tyumen region, Russian Federation.
22. In 2022, 14 traveling exhibitions were organized.

In 2022, online excursions were made to the Naryn-Kalinsky architectural complex and to the museum "Maiden Bath" (Kyzylar-hamam) of the XVI-XIX century with the exposition "Culture and life of ancient Derbent" of the Derbent State Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve of the Republic of Dagestan, to the Museum of the history of the city of Ufa of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the Ytyk-Kuel Literary and Art Museum-Reserve "Taata" of the Sakha Republic.
25. In 2022, the projects "My point of view"
"Thing in focus", "Meeting with Tradition",
"League of Lecturers", "Fragments of time"
"Sports in the museum", "Romance in the museum", "Unlimited life" were implemented in an online format in social networks. They were viewed and commented on by more than 100,000 visitors on the Internet.
26. During the action "The Museum", 149 exhibits were accepted into the scientific fund. Currently, there are 2,000 exhibits in the main fund, and 2,600 exhibits in the additional fund, 330 exhibits are in the temporary fund.
