New archaeological discoveries in Saraishyq

Excavations carried out by archaeologists of the Sarayshyk Museum-Reserve are continuing within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-2023 "BR10164208 Golden Horde cities, ancient caravan routes and caravan sarayes in the western region of Kazakhstan. : interdisciplinary research (XIII-XV centuries)

After the excavation site was cleared of burials, the rooms of the Golden Horde period were opened. The walls of the room were plastered with white chalk, heated by a stove. In the process of cleaning the floors in the rooms, there are remnants of coins, beads and iron products. The results of the excavations indicate that the buildings of the medieval city of Saraishyq were built according to a pre-thought-out plan, along a straight street, along a row. This suggests that the urban structures along the Great Silk Road did not grow spontaneously, but systematically, like the capital cities.
