Today, on April 21, Evgeny Mikhailovich Pigarev, a Russian archaeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, specially arrived to inspect the ancient city of Saraishyq. Akan Ongaruly, Director of the A. Margulan Institute of Archaeology, and Airat Gabitov, Director of the A. Khalikov Institute of Archaeology of Tatarstan, were together with the archaeologist. Evgeny Pigarev is an archaeologist and researcher of the medieval history of the Volga region, who has been conducting research on the site of the city of Sarai-Batu for many years. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and monographs. The archaeologists of the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve familiarized the scientist with the objects and the results of the excavations. E. Pigarev showed interest in museum works on the site of the city, work with tourists, scientific work and the potential of the Saraishyq Visit Center.
