On November 29, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Saraishyq" of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a republican scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, academician and founder of national archaeology Alkey Margulan. The moderator of the conference, Deputy director of the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve Zhanar Diyarova opened the event with a welcoming speech.
At the scientific event, presentations were made by: Chief inspector of the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve, archaeologist Aibek Turaruly with the theme "Archaeological research conducted at the Karagaily settlement", Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the M. Otemisov West Kazakhstan University Daryn Sagidullaev with the theme "New monuments of the Golden Horde in the West Kazakhstan region", Senior lecturer, archaeologist from the University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov (Atyrau) Amangeldi Zainov with the topic "Results of archaeological excavations conducted in 2024 at the settlement of Ashchysai", Deputy head of the Center for the Study of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Atyrau region Farhad Baidauletov with the topic "Grounds for naming some geographical objects identified during ethnoarchaeological studies conducted in the territory of Atyrau region", Scientific Secretary Amangeldi Zhumabayev with the report "Interdisciplinary research on the territory of Saraishyq: the first results", senior researcher at the Saraishyq Museum-Reserve, archaeologist Junis Baigaliev with the topic "Archaeological excavations at the medieval settlement of Saraishyq in 2024 at excavation No. 6: news and results".
During the conference, the results of archaeological research conducted in 2024, the methodology of excavations, current research issues, conservation of excavations and the results of archaeoethnographic research were discussed. The students of history participating in the conference asked questions that interested them and received detailed answers. The event was attended by scientists, students of the Faculty of History of the University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, as well as the staff of the museum-reserve.
