In September 2024, according to the calendar plan of the program of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Golden Horde monuments Saraishyq, Ushkan, Ashchysai, Karagaily in the context of historical and cultural heritage (XIII-XV centuries)", during an archaeological exploration expedition, scientists of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Saraishyq" visited the Golden Horde city of Lapas and the capital Sarai Batu on the territory of the Kharabalinsky district of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation. Archaeologist V. Plakhov and archaeologist, Candidate of Historical Sciences Evgeny Mikhailovich Pigarev familiarized with the excavations carried out in recent years. Local archaeologists were interviewed and the specifics and interrelationship of archaeological sites in Saraishyq and Sarai Batu were discussed.
