On August 26, 2025, the “Saraishyq” State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve was visited by renowned Russian numismatist and Doctor of Historical Sciences Pavel Nikolaevich Petrov.
During his visit, the scholar familiarized himself with the museum-reserve’s research activities. The museum’s archaeologists showed him new excavation areas and presented the findings from the latest field season.
The meeting included a discussion of the coins of Saraishyq, the extent to which they have been studied, and their significance for understanding the history of monetary circulation in the Golden Horde. The scholar provided a scientific assessment of the numismatic collection held in the museum’s collection and discussed areas for further joint research.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen their scientific cooperation.
