The Procurement (Selection) Committee of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Saraishyq" conducted an expert evaluation of valuable artifacts discovered during the 2023 archaeological excavations and decided to include them in the museum's collection.
The artifacts were found as part of the following scientific projects:
???? The project “The Capital City of Saraishyq in the Context of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Ulus of Jochi (13th–14th centuries),” funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2023, excavation site No. 2);
???? Project BR10164208 “Cities of the Golden Horde, Ancient Caravan Routes, and Caravanserais of Western Kazakhstan: Interdisciplinary Research (13th–15th centuries),” implemented under the targeted funding program of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2023, excavation site No. 3);
???? Archaeological research by the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore;
???? As well as artifacts received through the “Gift to the Museum” campaign.
Among the items are silver and copper coins, ongons (sacred objects), a fragment of a gold clasp, an albarello, and other ethnographic objects.
