In July, the scientific staff of the RSE «State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Saraishyq» together with the akimat of Makhambet district went on a research expedition «Saraishyq-Prorva-Burynshyk-Atyrau-Sarayshyq». The head of the expedition is Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Akhmetova Ulzhan Tulegenovna. The purpose of the expedition: «the camps of Prorva and Astrakhan in the GULAG system (1932-1950), funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.): history, memory, internship», creating a 3D model of GULAG camps, aerial photo-video shooting and conducting historical and archaeological exploration at the site of the camps, collecting materials.
