On May 22, archaeologists of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Saraishyq" of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with local historian Satkali Auelbayev and veteran of the medical field Sabyrtai Shomirov visited the oldest village of Qalabasy on the left bank of the Zhaiyk River and the burial grounds of Shoytas, Zhanaly. After asking of old people about the nature of the area 50-60 years ago, changes in the riverbed, the construction of buildings, conducted archaeological research on the site of monuments. Fragments of ceramics were found near the village of Qalabasy, indicating a connection with the medieval Saraishyq, and silicon shavings and fragments of microliths were found in the area of the burial ground of Zhanaly. With the help of Aksakals, the location of the mosque building on the site of the now-disappeared village of Qalabasy was also determined.
