In 1262, Berke Khan studied Islam teachings in Saraishyk and converted himself to Islam. The "Pantheon of Khans", the eternal abode of Muslim khans, was located in Saraishyk. Mosques and madrassas were built in the city in honor of the Sufis and Seyids. Since then, it is known that there were many famous mullahs, imams and priests. On this occasion, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve «Saraishyk» began new search work. Currently, the museum's collection contains a photograph and documents of Kakimbek Baygazuly, who became imam in 1901. The museum-reserve is ready to accept documents, religious books and photographs in the course of large-scale research and studies of religious figures of the Western region.
