From August 1 to August 31, 2022, at the site of the "Khan's Grave" in the medieval city of Saraishyk, the Saraishyk Museum-Reserve, the Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov and the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Margulan conducted joint archaeological excavations. In 2020-2021, 100 square meters of fossils studied at the facility were increased in the western and northern directions, and the total excavation area reached 300 square meters. In addition, a truncated shurf measuring 3x5 M was dug from the surface to a depth of 3.2 m. During the excavations, it was found that in the cultural layer of this place there are residential buildings from burials of the XVIII-XIX centuries to the XIII centuries. Among the found exhibits there are several copper and silver coins, painted clay tiles decorating the exterior of buildings, fragments of bone and ceramic products. It was believed that shamanism, clairvoyance associated with the Kazakh art of fortune-telling, may have been practiced in this room.
